How do I place an online return or exchange?

Help! I can’t find my return slip!
All returns must be processed within 60 days of receiving the order. Order # must be provided to place a return. Customers are allowed 1 exchange per order.
Butter Box returns/exchanges can only be done for the entire box only. If you want to exchange due to sizing you will be required to send back all 3 jeans to complete the exchange.1822 Denim does not process exchanges on individual box styles or sizes.
What’s your return & exchange policy?
1822 Denim is committed to 100% customer satisfaction and accepts returns up to 60 days from the date you place your order. Returns and Exchanges take 7 to 10 business days to process after received at our warehouse facility.
If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, then you may return it for a refund or exchange. For all returns and exchanges, a flat rate cost for return shipping of $7.99 USD will be deducted from your refund or exchange credit for shipping, processing, and handling. This fee is waived for customers who use our “Find My Unique Fit” prior to checkout.
Return & Exchanges During COVID-19 Outbreak
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions all exchanges will receive store credit to ensure faster turn around time. Store credit will be issued upon receipt of your exchange back to our facility, you will be emailed a store credit code. This unique code can be used to place a new order for your exchange item.
All orders sent back in exchange will receive a store credit upon receipt to expedite faster delivery.
All returns & exchanges must be processed within 60 days of receiving the order.
Order # must be provided to place a return. Please read below for the policy on return & exchange conditions.
All items should be returned unworn and with original tags intact and undamaged. Please note that items with the following conditions will not be eligible for full refunds and will be subject to a fee of $5 for each pair of jeans in an order that do not meet return condition.
- Items with pet hair/ worn/ or dirty
- Items with detached tags
- Items with strong odors
Please include return form or copy of invoice and customs documents (if applicable) along with the items you would like to return.
If items were bought at independent boutiques or department stores, they must be returned to the location where they were purchased.
You will be refunded to your original form of payment. 1822 Denim does not refund shipping charges or package insurance paid by the customer. Gift cards, E-gift cards, and items marked as “Final Sale” are final sale items and cannot be returned or exchanged. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll help you place the return.
1822 Denim reserves the right to process a partial refund of half the item/order amount for all orders sent back that do not abide by the above policy.
How long does it take to process a return or exchange?
Due to Covid-19 restrictions there may be delays in return & exchange processing.
We understand things don't always work out and so we offer a return policy of 60 days and 1 exchange per order. It can take 7-10 business days for your return/exchange credit to be processed. Due to covid-19 restrictions, this can take longer.
Please allow 7-10 business days after your return has been delivered back to us for a refund to be processed or an exchange credit to be issued.
Processing Time During COVID-19 Outbreak
Due to the spread of Covid-19 returns may take an additional 7 - 10 business days to process. We understand the frustration this may cause regarding your refunds exchanges. We are taking this necessary precaution to ensure the safety of our warehouse workers as they open and inspect returned items. We appreciate your patience with us during this time.
What should I do if I receive the wrong product?
If you received a product different from the one that you ordered, sorry about that! Please contact us at email@example.com and we’ll be sure to get you the 1822 Denim item you ordered!
What should I do If the item I receive is damaged?
If you received an item that is damaged, we sincerely apologize. Not to worry, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be sure to get you a new item asap.
What are the instructions for all returns or exchanges? It’s easy!
U.S. Customer Returns and Exchanges:
We will offer free shipping on orders of USD $75.00 or more.
Orders below USD $75.00 will be charged a USD $9.99 flat rate for standard shipping.
A flat rate cost for return shipping of USD $7.99 will be deducted from your refund for shipping, processing, and handling.
Option 1 – Return or exchange an item with our prepaid return service
To begin your return/exchange please click on the “Make a Return” button found on this page and follow the instructions.
You will receive an email with a pre-paid return label.
Print the label, attach to the box, and drop off at any USPS drop off locations.
Option 2 – Return or exchange an item on your own
You can also send your return/exchange back to us at the address below, at your expense using any trackable carrier you desire.

Make sure to include with your return/exchange:
The invoice with order number
Your name and billing address
Please allow 7-10 business days from the date of your return being delivered to us for a refund to be processed or an exchange credit to be issued. We will send you a return notification email to let you know once the return has been received and completed. We will refund you by way of your original payment method.
International Customer Returns and Exchanges:
If you are not satisfied with your international online purchase, not to worry!
Email us at email@example.com and we will be sure to help you with your return or exchange.
We are sorry but at this time we do not offer free shipping for returns and exchanges for our international customers. You will be responsible for any shipping charges.
How do I return an item that was a gift?
We are sorry you didn’t love your 1822 Denim gift. If the gift was purchased from our website, please email our customer service department at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make sure to help you with the return or exchange.
If the gift was purchased from a different website other than ours or from an independent boutique or department store, please return to the location where purchased.
How does a refund work with Bogo promotion purchases?
If you purchased an item as part of a buy one get one (BOGO) promotion, the promotional discount is based on the lowest priced item, then applied to each item proportionately. If you choose or need to return any of the items bought through the promotion, your refund will be reduced to reflect the discounted amount for each item.
This can be confusing, we know! See below for some examples in hopes we can clarify any questions you may have.
Buy One, Get One Free – If the first item is $60 and the second item is $40, the $60 item will be discounted by $24 and the $40 item will be discounted by $16, which in total offers a discount of $40. If either of these items are returned, the return value will be equal to the original purchase price reduced by the prorated discount.
Buy One, Get One 50% Off – If the first item is $60 and the second item is $40, the $60 item will be discounted by $12 and the $40 item will be discounted by $8 which in total offers a discount of $20.
If either of these items are returned, the return value will be equal to the original purchase price reduced by the prorated discount.
